Review: Wings of the Wind

Wings of the Wind Wings of the Wind by Connilyn Cossette
My rating: 💛💛💛💛

I enjoyed this third and final story in this series. Though all three books included strong characters and a great story on the Israelites’ journey in the Wilderness after their exodus from Egypt, I think I enjoyed this one the most, because of the spiritual growth of the female lead.

Alanah grew from a lost soul who was taught to worship many gods, to a character who learned about who the True God is, His protection and provision to His people and ultimately His forgiveness to people who is truly repentant.

Tobiah was also such a great character to love. His journey did not include the easiest path, but I loved how he stayed true to what he felt God asked of him, even though close family and friends tried to guide him on different routes.

I enjoyed how the author brought Alanah’s story to link with Rahab’s in the Bible – though I do think it a bit more fictional than what the Bible says.

After this series, I do plan to read more books by this author.

About the book:

Motherless and raised alongside her brothers, Alanah, a Canaanite, is no stranger to fighting. When her father and brothers are killed in battle with the Hebrews, she disguises herself and sneaks onto the battlefield to avenge her family. The one thing she never counted on was surviving. Tobiah, a Hebrew warrior, has spent his share of time on the battlefield and is shocked to find an unconscious woman among the casualties. Compelled to bring her to a healer back at the Hebrew camp, he's unprepared for the consequences of what he intended as an act of compassion. In order to survive, Alanah must unite with her enemy. But will a terrible revelation drive her toward an even greater danger?
