My rating: 💛💛💛
I really enjoyed this high quality debut by a new to me author. Moses and the exodus of the Israelites is a well known and loved story. What was unique and different in this telling of the story, was that it was from the view point of the Egyptians and other Israelites who was not part of the inter circle POV we get from the Bible.
What I love about Biblical fiction is that it brings characters from the Bible stories to life. And this novel was no different. For the first time I thought about how the Egyptians would have handled the plagues and didn’t even think how the Israelites dealt with everything - we usually just see it from Moses and Aaron’s POV.
Looking forward to continue this series.
