Review: Standoff

Standoff Standoff by Patricia Bradley
My rating: 💛💛💛

The suspense started from the first chapter and was really good throughout the story right till the end, though there was a time it did feel a bit slow (dragged out).

The author did do a great job of giving me a few options of who might be involved, though my main guess were correct, but there were times I doubted and someone I didn’t really wanted involved.

The story did end a bit abruptly to me. Almost as if the author was forced to end the book and thus some things were sorted out too quickly - I think of some of the slower parts were removed and time spend on the ending, it would have felt more rounded for me.

Between the two main characters, I enjoyed Luke more. His character felt a bit more grounded than Brooke. And Brooke’s best friend, Emma, was a bit annoying at one stage with her nosiness.

I did enjoy this and do think the series will get better with each book and as we get to know the characters (there was a lot) a bit more.

Fans of Romantic Suspense will like this story.
