Review: A Season to Love

A Season to Love A Season to Love by Nicole Deese
My rating: 💛💛💛

Rating 3.5 stars

I enjoyed this second book in this series about Willa, trying to find herself and her place in her daughter’s (Savannah’s) life after Savannah fight and win against cancer. Willa basically gave up her own dreams and life to be there for Savannah (which mother will not though) but now with Savannah being able to return to normal life, Willa is sort of lost. And due to her losses and the trauma she went through, she likes and functions in structure and things she controls.

In comes Patrick, adventurer, and someone who pushes Willa out of her comfort zone and on the path to finding her true self again.

The narrator delivered an enjoyable story wrt Willa and Patrick, though I didn’t much enjoyed her telling of the other characters, especially Weston and Georgia who came across a bit different in book 1.

The balance in this story between emotional up and downs and humor was again something I enjoyed and starting to expect and appreciate from this author.

On to book 3 of this series.

About the book:

At this point in her life, bravery is not a trait Willa Hart would readily claim. She believes her seven-year-old daughter, Savannah, who never knew her father and successfully tackled chemotherapy, is truly the courageous one. Yet after Willa has a fateful encounter with handsome young doctor Patrick McCade, her outlook—and her view of herself—begins to change.

Patrick, a thrill-seeking world traveler and temporary resident of Lenox, Oregon, sets out to show Willa the value of adventure, even within her tiny town. But just when their friendship shows signs of turning into something more, Patrick’s life as a traveling doctor calls him back. Will his last days in town signal the end of their journey, or will Patrick and Willa find the courage to transform a single season into a lifetime?
