Book Spotlight Friday! Body of Evidence

Book Beginnings and Friday56

Book Beginnings is a weekly meme hosted by Rose City Reader that asks you to share the first sentence (or so) of the book you're reading. Friday 56 is hosted by Freda's Voice and asks you to grab a book (any book), turn to page 56 or 56% in your e-reader and share a non-spoiler sentence or two.  First Line Friday is a weekly meme hosted by Reading is my Superpower that asks you to share the first sentence of the book you're reading.

I always enjoy the creepy weird villains Irene Hannon creates.

Body of Evidence

About the book:

Forensic pathologist Grace Reilly has seen her share of unusual deaths in rural Missouri. But when she begins to notice a curious pattern in autopsies of elderly residents whose demise appears to be natural, she takes her concerns to Sheriff Nate Cox.

Nate is skeptical about the link Grace is seeing between the deaths--and her suspicions of foul play. But her persistence is compelling. Once she finally convinces him her theory is credible and they join forces to investigate, danger follows. Because exposing the truth could destroy several lives--including Grace's.

Queen of inspirational romantic suspense Irene Hannon closes out her bestselling Triple Threat series with this gripping tale of secrets revealed and romance sparked.

Book Beginnings

Someone was in the mortuary prep room.

Friday 56

He stopped eating again. "You're thinking Fred and Mavis were poisoned?"

My thoughts so far

I am taking a bit longer than usual reading an Irene Hanon - mainly due to being so tired thanks to the puppy pajama drills!

    1. And Irene's book, though in a series can be read as stand alone books as well.

    1. I did enjoy this one, not as much as others by her, but still a good suspense.

  8. I love Irene’s books!

My book this week is Authentically Izzy by Pepper Basham:
    Prologue
    Dear readers,
    This is a cautionary tale.
A tale of family, literary classics, podiatry, matchmaking, Shakespeare, and distance.

  10. I started this series, but haven't kept up. I'd like to though. I'm starting the novella collection Targeted, and the first line is from "On the Run" by Lynette Eason: "Daria Nevsky slammed the door of her Ford F-150 truck and tucked her jacket under her chin to ward off the chill of the November wind." Have a great week!
