Review: Not by Sight

Not by Sight Not by Sight by Kate Breslin
My rating: 💛💛💛

I enjoyed this second novel by this author a lot more than the first. It started out intriguing, and it reminded me a bit about beauty and the beast, with Grace showing Jack, who acted a bit beasty after his accident, to see and enjoy the beauty in life again.

Grace also had to learn to do some hard work, which previously, she didn't have to think twice about which caused for a few humorous moments and sticky situations.

The mystery about who the traitor is also kept my interest, and I was surprised about that revelation.

I'm glad I waited to read this author's books in order of publication, because the next book is about Grace's twin, Colin.

I have not read a lot of books yet about WW1, so I enjoyed those Historical parts, especially the mention of Room40 which I learned about in Roseanna M White's series, The Codebreakers.

*I listened to this on Scribd. The narrator delivered a very enjoyable telling of the story.*

About the book:

Gripping Sophomore Novel from a Rising Historical Romance Talent

With Britain caught up in WWI, Jack Benningham, heir to the Earl of Stonebrooke, has declared himself a conscientious objector. Instead, he secretly works for the Crown by tracking down German spies on British soil, his wild reputation and society status serving as a foolproof cover.

Blinded by patriotism and concern for her brother on the front lines, wealthy suffragette Grace Mabry will do whatever it takes to assist her country's cause. When she sneaks into a posh London masquerade ball to hand out white feathers of cowardice, she never imagines the chain of events she'll set off when she hands a feather to Jack.

And neither of them could anticipate the extent of the danger and betrayal that follows them--or the faith they'll need to maintain hope.
